Ben Hook

For the past 20 years Ben Hook has been South Australia’s most popular sports columnist, delivering a weekly insight into South Australian elite and community sport.

A former first-class cricketer with South Australia, Ben twice won the Bradman Medal as the best player in the SACA Premier competition. Since beginning with Messenger Community Newspapers in 2004 before transferring to The Advertiser/Sunday Mail in 2006, his media and speaking roles have diversified significantly across those 20 years, and is now a regular radio contributor with the ABC, Five AA and SEN.

After departing the Sunday Mail in July 2024, Ben has begun a weekly independent podcast, showcasing his remarkable knowledge SA sport.

Ben is also a sought after MC, working for numerous high profile sporting organisations including Cricket Australia and the Adelaide Football Club.
